Technological advancements and their profound and inevitable impact on our societies have opened doors to new avenues of interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary creative exploration. This transformation has facilitated an evolution in the relationship between the physical and digital realms, giving rise to collaborative spaces and unexpected intersections in the creation of physical interfaces. These interfaces may result in the production of a distinctive form of digital play using handcrafted wearable devices, which inherently retain a tangible physical existence.
Textiles, as materials and mediums, have ventured into the digital realm, leading to a unique kind of materialization. They engage with the analog and physical world, beginning with traditional and historical tools like the loom. This approach imbues textiles with a dimension that significantly influences personal and social information transmission.
